Squall-line thunderstorms with heavy rain and flash flooding were noted in portions of the northern Midwest Wednesday afternoon, while scattered thunderstorms from remnants of Hurricane Barry were featured in the southeastern Midwest. Other crop areas were dry. Temperatures ranged from the mid 60s in eastern Washington and central Saskatchewan, Canada to the mid 90s in central Kansas and southern Texas.
